Can we still believe in God?

Well, that's a frightening question for us Seminarians to consider when it comes to job security. It is even more frightening when we realize the sentiment that humanity has grown out of belief in the divine is indeed prevalent today. You and I have come to Seminary to care for and bring God’s word to those who might be struggling with this very question.

This question is also the title of Craig Blomberg’s recent book. Published in 2020, Blomberg’s work examines ten frequently posed objections to the Christian faith. These challenges to Christianity provide a fascinating snapshot of the zeitgeist of the age as our neighbors wrestle with the problem of pain, the modern concept of sexuality, violence in the Bible, and textual authenticity. Chances are each of us has been a part of conversations around these topics with unbelievers on more than one occasion.

The good news is that this resource is available to you, right here at the Kristie Kay Hassel Memorial Library. Come in and take a look at Blomberg’s book. It is packed with helpful information on a variety of topics.

If you want a quick refresher on the topic of theodicy, Blomberg is your guy.

Looking to address the question your congregant asked you about apparent contradictions in the Bible? Look no further.

Hoping to start a conversation with a friend who can’t wrap his head around Hell? Start with this book.

But Blomberg’s book is just one of many others in our collection that can help prepare you to answer such questions. Check out one of the books below if you’re looking for more resources.
