Everyone on campus knows: Dr. Sanchez is the “Holy Spirit guy.” He is our resident expert on all things Holy Spirit. It is no surprise, then, that his book, Pneumatología: El Espíritu Santo y la Espiritualidad de la Iglesia, is featured prominently on the faculty publication shelf on the main floor of the library.

In this book, Dr. Sanchez explores how pneumatology shapes the spirituality of the church. He writes primary to a Hispanic audience but the Spanish-language text approaches the topic from a distinctly Latino perspective from which the church at large can benefit.

Sanchez makes the theology of the Holy Spirit accessible. Lay people and educated theologians alike can enjoy the wealth of knowledge presented here. He explores anthropology and the Spirit, the relationship among the three persons of the Trinity, The Spirit and the mission of Christ, and the Spirit and the body of Christ.

He even helps the reader see how these things can guide Christians in relation to one another, the Church’s mission, and creation. The theology Sanchez lays out in this book is inherently practical. He includes reflection questions at the end of each chapter that can help one thoughtfully consider the implications of the material. This makes the book an excellent resource for personal or group study.

Have you wondered how the economy of the Trinity can inform the way you relate to other people? Do you want to know how Spirit Christology can shape missions in your local congregation? Are you curious how the Spirit is viewed in liberation theology? Pneumatología: El Espíritu Santo y la Espiritualidad de la Iglesia can answer these questions and more.

Head on over to the faculty publications bookshelf by the reference section to find this book and many more!
