Have you ever been so bogged down in homework, papers, and exams that you just couldn’t stomach the thought of making another trip to the library to check out yet another book? Maybe you’re running late to one professor’s office hours, but you need to start an essay for another class entirely—and it doesn’t help that you don’t even have the necessary books for either.
The Concordia Seminary Library is here to help. Our website is equipped with countless features designed to make a student’s entire research experience more accessible, engaging, and convenient. From your initial broad search to tracking down that final elusive resource, our website provides dozens of functions and tools that will make your time online as simple and straightforward as possible. With these features, you can spend less time looking for resources and more time learning from them.
One of the most underrated—yet helpful—tools available online is the “Request” function. This feature will alert library staff to pull a book from the shelves for you and have it ready for pickup at the circulation desk as quickly as possible. To take advantage of this tool, use the search catalog to navigate to a book that piques your interest. If the book is listed as “available”, look to the “Resources” box on the right-hand side of your screen. Click the word “Request” beside the red checkmark and enter the necessary information on the next page. In a short amount of time, you’ll receive an email letting you know that your book is ready and waiting for you to check it out. Visit LibGuides (https://csl.libguides.com/home) to get started!
The more you explore the library website, the more of these helpful tools you’ll find. Swing by the circulation desk at any time if you have any questions! Happy researching.
