Introduction to Bernard of Clairvaux

Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153) was a French abbot and major reformer of Benedictine monasticism. He was a major founder of the Cistercian order, and also preached in support of the Second Crusade. He is best known for his preaching and his vast collection of sermons.
